ReplyDeletewhat was the moonrise like? I'm wondering when you slept??!!
Mattie-- that picture with you under the elephant gives new meaning to the lyric "under my thumb." (the rolling stones...)
to see that much wildlife must be so amazing.
can't wait to hear more!!

We slept at night, but not for long! I don't think we saw much of the moon rise except for in the morning there was a tiny little sideways moon. Neither of us know the rolling stones song! :(
DeleteThe wildlife was incredible! But no giraffes which was a tiny disappointment in our incredibly busy time here.

Emilia and Mattie!
HI Guys!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIts Martin, the kid with the bad values, (directed directly to Mattie) ANYWAYS it's looking good, I hope your having a ton of fun, which it looks like you are! Whats the weather like? And you know, that apparently elephants are the some of the smartest animals on the planet? They also have big butts. I miss you a lot, well I miss Emilia, cause I doubt Mattie misses me...! I can't wait to hear more, since I am being a bored teenager that is doing absolutely nothing. Sooooo uhhhh don't get eaten by cheetas or elephants or people or lions or zebras, and don't get caught up in a revolution there, cause were gonna need you for the one thats happening here. Later Haters.

Hey Martin!
DeleteSo nice to hear from you. We are having an amazing time here and will be so sad when we return! But it will be nice to see you all again. The weather here is nice, hot but not humid at all, so definitely tolerable. I had no idea about the elephants! They do seem smart though. So far, we haven't been eaten by anything!
Emilia
Martin is right-- those elephants are incredibly smart and they mourn their dead like we do. i heard that when one of their family dies, they stay with the body for days. its as though they need to mourn or can't let go or something.
